This first album released in 4th
October 1999. This first album, with the Muscle Museum as the third single and
has been released as EP before, the critics said that Muse just like Radiohead at
the time and have no identical character. All the songs, especially the singles
from this album such as Muscle Museum, Unintended, Uno and Sunburn, has the
same color with Radiohead songs. On the other hand, some observer said that
Muse has quietly something difference with Radiohead refer to Cave singles that
has a lot of effect in guitar and has a little funky style. So, there was some
pro-contra about this first album and because of it the album just reached 29th
position in UK album chart. Well, if you noticed, so it’s true that at the
time, Muse just so mainstream and it can’t be denied that Muse influenced by
the surrounding during the time. But naturally, this band still new in the
music industry and the band just excluded their first color and style in music.
By the time, for the next album they will do experiments and reveals their
truly style.

album from Muse which released in 17th July 2001. In this album Muse
has some experiment due to critics of the music observer about their previous

didn’t appear in their first album. So this album is more progressive than
before. New Born, Plug in Baby, and Bliss was the backbone of the album, and
made it easier to created new songs based on it. They did some experiment of
the music stuff, they had been using animal bones on Screenager. They also made

This album that released in 29th

first single of this album was so popular. In this album too, Muse has
transformed to make modern rock that can be listened by all of human being. It
can be noticed by Time Is Running Out and Hysteria songs that was so fabulous
at the time. Absolution was the beginning of Muse moves his style to more
alternative, Thoughts of a Dying Atheist and The Small Print as the example. In

Black Holes and Revelations released on 3rd
July 2006. This album just made Muse more famous after Absolution. Because on
this album, Muse made more experimental music, and it worked amazingly! The
album just felt more funk, pop, and R&B. First, they tried soft music genre,
pop. Yes, on this album, Muse made something new on their style in music. Their-pop
rock was just felt very strong on Starlight single, even though it was not the
first single of the album. The first single exactly Supermassive Black Hole
that was listened like more funk and beat, and the alternative rock was
amazingly sounds good on the song. Both of the singles, made Muse more well
known for all the listener music and they got more fans after it. The
electronic sounds that firstly appeared on Absolution, not felt bitter on this
album. But, the existence of the sounds still could be guessed on Exo-Politics.
Their Progressive rock and classical sound that was appeared on Origin of
Symmetry at the first time, appeared again in Black Holes and Revelations which
Invincible and Soldier’s Poem as example. In the future, both the classical and
electronic sound will be have own album as a theme. Black Holes and Revelations
had just reach 1st position UK album chart. By the way, Chris
commented that the band listened to Islamic radio stations whilst writing the
album and the progressive elements of that music influenced songs such as
"Assassin".

The fifth album of Muse, The Resistance,
released on 14th September 2009. This album made Muse won the Grammy
for Best Rock Album in 2011. As I said before on Black Holes and Revelations
that classical and electronic sound will be appear on album as a theme, so this
is the album that I’m talking about. And all of the songs of this album exists
on my playlist! The Resistance is seriously so classical. With there a
compilation song about 14 minutes on Exogenesis : Symphony. They used crunch
organ for Unnatural Selection and made the theme of classical rock simply
bitter. Matt was also lived in Italy that was belong to opera composer and
tried to make a connection with his ghost whilst Matt was trying to create a
song and hope some inspiration from the ghost. Even thought, the electronic
sounds still appeared but not so bold, with the Undisclosed Desires single. The
next album, the electronic sound will be as a theme and classical sounds will
be lighter. The Resistance reached 1st position in UK album chart
too.

The 2nd Law is the sixth album
from Muse which released on 1st October 2012. Muse tried and made
some radical changes in this album with a lot of electronic sounds. Indeed, a
lot of effect guitars, basses, even drums used to compose the songs. The
trailer from this album that count down the launching of the album, The 2nd
Law : Unsustainable, was simply describe how the album will be, even though the
trailer sounds funky at some parts of it. But, the second single, Madness, and
the fifth single, Panic Station, clarify that electronic sounds, effects,
distortion, and alternative rock was the base of the album. Classical and
progressive genre still guessed, even there was some orchestra included, we can
feel it in Supremacy and Survival. Survival is the official London 2012 Olympic
song too. In this album, Muse raised a theme about technology and energy around
the world, it can be found from the trailer. The result, this album reached 1st
position in UK Album chart.
