Black Holes and Revelations released on 3rd July 2006. This album just made Muse more famous after Absolution. Because on this album, Muse made more experimental music, and it worked amazingly! The album just felt more funk, pop, and R&B. First, they tried soft music genre, pop. Yes, on this album, Muse made something new on their style in music. Their-pop rock was just felt very strong on Starlight single, even though it was not the first single of the album. The first single exactly Supermassive Black Hole that was listened like more funk and beat, and the alternative rock was amazingly sounds good on the song. Both of the singles, made Muse more well known for all the listener music and they got more fans after it. The electronic sounds that firstly appeared on Absolution, not felt bitter on this album. But, the existence of the sounds still could be guessed on Exo-Politics. Their Progressive rock and classical sound that was appeared on Origin of Symmetry at the first time, appeared again in Black Holes and Revelations which Invincible and Soldier’s Poem as example. As I said before on Black Holes and Revelations that classical and electronic sound will be appear on album as a theme, so this is the album that I’m talking about. And all of the songs of this album exists on my playlist! The Resistance is seriously so classical. With there a compilation song about 14 minutes on Exogenesis : Symphony. They used crunch organ for Unnatural Selection and made the theme of classical rock simply bitter. Matt was also lived in Italy that was belong to opera composer and tried to make a connection with his ghost whilst Matt was trying to create a song and hope some inspiration from the ghost. Even thought, the electronic sounds still appeared but not so bold, with the Undisclosed Desires single. The next album, the electronic sound will be as a theme and classical sounds will be lighter. Indeed, a lot of effect guitars, basses, even drums used to compose the songs. The trailer from this album that count down the launching of the album, The 2nd Law : Unsustainable, was simply describe how the album will be, even though the trailer sounds funky at some parts of it. But, the second single, Madness, and the fifth single, Panic Station, clarify that electronic sounds, effects, distortion, and alternative rock was the base of the album.
